Course Description: The 9-1-1 Basic Telecommunicator course provides an introduction to emergency telecommunication centers’ technology, processes, and ethics. The course is designed to prepare you to learn effective communication in an emergency situation and help you earn a certification through the National Emergency Communications Institute (NECI) as Emergency Telecommunicators. Training includes instruction in but is not limited to, the following: emergency telecommunication technology, interpersonal communication, caller management, classification of police, fire, and medical calls, legal aspects of public safety communication, and stress factors and management in the emergency telecommunication field. 

Pre-Requisite:  A valid Healthcare Provider (or equivalent) CPR card
