Online Elective CEUs (Medical Emergencies #1)
Class Price: $2.25

Course Overview (C9437A):
This interactive lecture explores key considerations for responding to an obstetric or
maternity call. Although childbirth and pregnancy are both naturally occurring states,
they have the potential for serious complications, including maternal and fetal death.
With the advent of modern medicine, maternal and infant mortality rates have been
significantly reduced, and close medical monitoring usually reveals problems well before childbirth. Nonetheless, EMS practitioners must be well prepared to manage a variety of complications that can occur during pregnancy and childbirth.

This interactive lecture explores the prehospital care of psychiatric emergencies and
behavioral crises, situations that may be the result of an acute medical situation, mental illness, mind-altering substances, stress, or other causes. This module discusses how to assess a person who exhibits signs and symptoms of a psychiatric emergency or a behavioral crisis and determine what kind of emergency care may be required in these situations.
